Our company helped to deliver faster, more reliable visa and immigration services by integrating legacy systems on the PSN with a new cloud platform.
Appointed as lead architects in 2014, we transformed the Immigration Platform Technology (IPT) network and infrastructure capability for the UK Visas & Immigration and Immigration Enforcement directorates. These new services made it faster and easier for people to apply for visas and for Home Office staff to make millions of decisions each year.
We joined forces with the Home Office team and other partners to design and manage the transition. From an initial feasibility assessment through to early-life support once the infrastructure was up and running, we worked closely with business stakeholders and third-party suppliers, using an agile methodology.
At that time, the IPT programme was one of the largest and most complex UK public sector cloud transformation projects, with staff able to handle over a million cases a year.
Working as part of a wider team for both Home Office and Her Majesty’s Passport Office in Marsham Street, Sheffield, Croydon and Fleet Street offices, we produced high-level and low-level designs to enable suppliers to connect their UK data centres.
